MANILA, Philippines – On Thursday, January 9, the annual Feast of the Black Nazarene (Andas) shows the strong catholic faith of the Filipinos which draws again million crowds.
The Black Nazarene, with the cross resting on his shoulder, will make its way along the roads of Manila, From Quirino Grandstand mass and procession back to Quiapo Church. Devotees who believe in the miraculous powers of the dark-skinned image will join the procession.
A mass will be celebrated by Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle at the Quirino Grandstand before the religious statue traces a path from Luneta to the Quiapo Church.
